Labeling objects

As you add objects to your document and it becomes more complex, consider labeling important paths and shapes so you can identify them quickly. You can label any selected object in the Layers panel by expanding a layer to see its objects, and then double-clicking an object's name in the Layers panel to edit it.

When you label an object, the label appears in the Layers panel whenever you expand the layer.
